Reinforcement of Polymer Composites
‌Plastic and Rubber Reinforcement‌: Acting as a skeletal reinforcement within plastic matrices (such as PP, PA, and nylon), these whiskers significantly enhance tensile strength, flexural strength, and heat resistance; they are widely used in the manufacture of automotive and electronic components.
‌Rubber Performance Optimization‌: Incorporating 10%–30% modified whiskers markedly improves rubber hardness, tensile strength, wear resistance, and tear strength; they can partially replace carbon black to reduce production costs.
‌Epoxy Adhesive Modification‌: Compared to conventional fillers, these whiskers boost adhesive tensile strength by 50%–120% and shear strength by 40%–140%, while also enhancing heat resistance, wear resistance, and thixotropic properties.

Friction and Abrasive Materials
‌Asbestos Replacement‌: Being non-toxic and wear-resistant, they serve as an ideal substitute for toxic asbestos; when used in automotive brake pads, they stabilize the friction coefficient and reduce operating noise.
‌Grinding Wheel Performance Upgrade‌: They form a three-dimensional network structure within resin-bonded grinding wheels, increasing rotational strength and allowing for safe operating speeds of up to 120 m/s; they also improve heat dissipation to prevent workpiece burn, resulting in a 10%–15% reduction in overall production costs.
